This step-by-step guide will take you through installing the pyCoAn software package. In our example we'll be installing the package on an AMD64 system running Fedora 12 Linux (x86_64). Although the details might differ slightly for different platforms, these differences should be minor to trivial. pyCoAn will run on Linux and Mac OS X. Check out the pyCoAn FAQ for additional information and tips.
In the following pages, commands you need to type will be shown in green fixed type like this: ./configure; make; make install. For longer blocks of input and output, it will be displayed in a block like this (input in green, output in grey):
